Snow Plan

Communications:

• Keep covers on the salt buckets near the building entrances and notify V&T when these are empty or near empty.  Be mindful of excessive salt use to prevent waste and excessive damage to the concrete, metal railings and lawns.

• When possible, the phone system is used to help coordinate parking area plowing. Ensure that V&T has your phone number(s) to receive these notifications.  Note that you still need to watch and be aware of where the plows are to know when they are in your area. One car not moving in a section can prevent its completion and impact other residents. 

• IF YOU ARE AWARE OF ANY ICY CONDITIONS THAT NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, PLEASE NOTIFY V&T SO IT CAN BE ADDRESSED BY THE CONTRACTOR. 

Order of operations:

• Roadways will receive priority for snow plowing with a pass to be made for every two inches of snowfall.

• Unit walkways are shoveled before parking spaces, unless it's safer not to do so.  

• Plowing of parking areas will be sometime between 9AM - 5PM dependent on conditions.

• It is strongly recommended that you leave the site during parking space plowing. 

• The sidewalk along Cedar Avenue will usually be cleared after the parking spaces. 

Moving your vehicle:

• If you are unable to move your vehicle(s) after a snow event please plan ahead of time for assistance.  

• The dumpster area and specific visitor parking spaces need to be kept vacant prior to the event and during certain times.   Refer to the map below for details.

• Owners of vehicles not moving after a snow event or interfering with snow clearing operations may be subject to fines and/or towing of a vehicle, as well as covering associated costs for contractor return visits.

• Do not park on roads adjacent to where the plowing is taking place. - SAFETY RISK - 

• If you must temporarily park in someone's assigned space, remain with the vehicle and comply if requested to move by the Owner.

• Spaces need to be salted after plowing.  DO NOT RUSH BACK TO YOUR SPACE UNTIL SALTED.  This is often a different truck so wait until the salt treatment is applied.
